Remember When?

I’ve been reflecting on how great my problems are today compared to those I’ve had in the past.

The foundation of my work is to learn for myself, and teach others, how to achieve the quality of life we’ve always wanted. The easiest route to this is by leveraging The Law of Attraction which says, “You get more of what you focus on.” Another way to say it is, “Ask and you will receive.”

The problem is we FORGET what we asked for! However, if you take some time to look back at what your life used to be like, you will get clues about what you asked for then that you now have:

Remember when you were a teenager and all you wanted was the freedom to make your own decisions? — You got it!

Remember when…

… you wanted a car?

… you really really really wanted the job you now have?

… you wanted your own place to live?

…you wanted a family of your own?

…you wanted a pet?

… you wanted control of the remote?

I remember so clearly the day I looked into my own refrigerator, full of food and said to myself, “Look! There’s food in here. I must be a grownup now.”

It’s so easy to look at what we don’t have and decide that life is not working out. We are an instant gratification society and if we don’t get it RIGHT NOW, we decide we have somehow failed.

Think for a moment how awful your life would be if you got everything you wanted in the instant that it popped into your head. It would be like a science fiction movie of an experiment gone horribly wrong.

I’d have been married at least twelve times, all to the wrong people. I’d have a resume of jobs that took up 17 pages. I would own so many material things my house and yard would look like a garish dump. And I would definitely be at least 200 pounds overweight from all the ice cream and candy I’d consumed!

I’m smart enough now to be grateful there is a delay before I get what I think I want—it gives me time to think it through and do some fine-tuning before it arrives. That may be why I love the problems I have today—they are so much more manageable than those I had in the past! That’s what happens when you learn to utilize the Law of Attraction to your advantage as opposed to being at its effect. (Remember, it’s always impacting your life whether you’re using it on purpose or not.)

Now that you’ve taken a trip down memory lane and realized that you asked for and received the life you now have, what would you like to be looking back at in 5-10 years? More powerfully said, “What do you want, and why do you want it?”

The more you focus on what you want (even if it’s simply more of what you already have), the more quickly it will come to you.

Remember when…

you didn’t know this?
